The Project Manager or Director collaborates with owner and other key stakeholders to generate the Project Management Plan. An effective Project Management Plan is a formal, written and approved document that establish how the project will be executed, monitored, and controlled. It should be a detailed and comprehensive document and may include baselines, other management plans, and planning documents. This document is used to the entire team to establish the approach to the project and various members strategy to deliver the intended of the Project.
As the Project evolves, the performance of the Project is measured against the baseline established in the Project Management Plan. The scope baseline, schedule baseline, and cost baseline are all referred to as the Performance Measurement Baseline. The Project Manager will monitor and identify any deviation of the PMB and discuss strategies to adjust the Management Plan to mitigate any issues
Besides proper planning, Risk Assessment and analysis, a Project Manager’s abilities is also based on efficiently controlling the Project Delivery and Goals.
